Teacher Clarity & New Georgia ELA Standards Workshop

Overview:
Join us for a two-day deep dive into the importance of teacher clarity in tandem with the newly adopted ELA standards. Day 1 will build an understanding of the design and intent of the new standards and develop understanding of teacher clarity through the important approach of developing learning progressions, learning intentions, and success criteria. Day 2 will allow ample time to engage in clarity work with new standards in grade level groups, in vertical groups, and with others from your district.

The overall goal of this two-day session is to build an awareness of the work needed to clearly support successful planning and instruction in our schools and leave with a plan for local implementation with a model to serve as your guide. Our team will leverage the required texts below to help attendees understand how to utilize these texts with local professional learning initiatives focused on teacher clarity work.

Additionally, the BBB team will share ways that we can continue to partner with local districts to help with the lift of teacher clarity work and with the onboarding of new ELA standards.

Presenter Information

BBB Consultants Matt Johnson and Mary Jo Swiger will lead this two-day workshop. These individuals have an extensive history of standards development, implementation, and support across Georgia and have a deep understanding of the importance of teacher clarity and how to achieve clarity in our schools.

Cancellations

Cancellations prior to 2 weeks out can be reimbursed at full rate. Registrants can send someone else in place of someone who was registered but must communicate that to BBB ahead of the workshop. Cancellations within 2 weeks of a workshop will not be reimbursed.
